Program: Northern Star - Kirkland Lake - Kirkland Street W

Description of Services: Northern Star offers two drop-in centers throughout the district, self-help groups dealing with issues like emotions, coping skills, assertiveness training and life skills. Social recreational activities such as crafts, community kitchen, birthday celebrations, and member meetings. Trained volunteer hosts operate a drop-in center and provide peer support.
Requirements
Application: Self-referrals accepted. Call or walk-in during operational hours to complete a referral. Entry to the program is done via brief interview whereby an oath of confidentiality is signed and an organization referral is completed. Individuals can be a member of the Northern Star program only and do not have to be accessing any other mental health services.
