Care at School
Description of Services: Provides health services in school for students who require medical and/or rehabilitative assistance to enable them to attend school, participate in school routines and receive instruction

Services available to eligible patients may include:
  • personal support
  • nursing
  • nurse practitioner
  • physiotherapy and occupational therapy
  • social work
  • nutrition and food counselling (dietitians)
  • access to long-term care homes
  • access to supported living (adult day programs, supportive housing, retirement homes and assisted living)
  • health support in the school
  • medical supplies and equipment
  • speech and language therapy
  • referral to other community supports


  • In addition to delivering care in schools, visiting professionals will also provide health-related education, teaching and consultation services to school staff and parents in the school setting
